humanity of christ

Humanity of Christ

The true humanity of Jesus Christ was denied even in the earliest ages of the Church. The Docetist Marcion and the Priscillianists grant to Jesus only an apparent body; the Valentinians, a body brought down fromHeaven. The followers of Apollinaris deny either that Jesus had any human soul at all, or that He possessed the higher part of the human soul, they maintain that the Word supplies either the whole soul in Christ, or at least its higher faculties. In more recent times it is not so much Christ's true humanity as His real manhood that is denied. According to Kant the Christian creed deals with the ideal, not with the historical Jesus; according to Jacobi, it worships Jesus not as an historical person, but as a religious ideal; according to Fichte there exists an absolute unity between God and man, and Jesus was the first to see and teach it; according to Schelling, the incarnation is an eternal fact, which happened to reach in Jesus its highest point, according toHegel, Christ is not the actual incarnation of God in Jesus of Nazareth but the symbol of God's incarnation inhumanity at large. Finally, certain recent Catholic writers distinguish between the Christ of history and the Christ of faith, thus destroying in the Christ of faith His historical reality.

PARABLES REVEAL

What the PARABLES REVEAL?

I will share ten of the approximately 60 parables that Jesus Christ used in His teaching. I will reveal the mystery of the parables through their proper interpolation. But first I need to define four groups of people – Unbelievers, Believers, Make Believers, and True Believers – which will reveal the eternal destination of any and all human beings around the world regardless as to their ethnicity, race, or supposed religious beliefs.
An “unbeliever” represents all sinners/humans around the world regardless of their ethnicity, race, or spiritual beliefs. (1) All people are born as sinners and our eternal destiny is eternal separation from the ONLY true, living, loving God (2) with our eternal residence in Hell. (3)
(1) Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives. (Romans 3:23) AMP
(2) But the Lord is the true God and the God of truth (the God Who is Truth). He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth quakes, and the nations are not able to bear His indignation. (Jeremiah 10:10) AMP
(2a) He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. (1 John 4:8) AMP
(3) And they shall go forth and gaze upon the dead bodies of the [rebellious] men who have stepped over against Me{God}; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all mankind. (Isaiah 66:24) AMP
(3a) And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him {God} who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna). (Matthew 10:28) AMP
A “Believer” is a sinner who has just accepted the bountiful free gift of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior according to the process of justification and is a new spiritual creation, (4) but he/she MUST seek further teachings from the Bible and the guidance/ Counsel from God the Holy Spirit and the multitude of counselors from within the Bride Church (5) to immediately start the process of sanctification which allows God to set them apart according to His Word in His foreknown and predestined plans/ministry for them. (6)
(4) For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) AMP
(4a) Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!                        (2 Corinthians 5:17) AMP
(5) Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word {Bible} is Truth. (John 17:17

What is real meaning behind it?

By: Jochelle Roces Luna
"Halloween is a real, sacred day for those who follow Wicca. In fact, it is one of two high and holy days for them. The Celtic belief of spirits being released is current, along with the worship of Samhain (the lord of death) – both are promoted as something to embrace on that day. There is no question in my mind that to those who believe and follow the practices of witchcraft, Halloween represents an opportunity to embrace the evil, devilish, dark side of the spiritual world.

So after discovering this, what is a reasonable conclusion? As Christians you and I are placed in this world to be a light in a world of darkness. There is no lasting benefit to ignore a holiday that exists around us, but it also does harm to celebrate Halloween as it has originated and grown over the centuries."

"My Prayer Life"

Reflection#3
Luna, Jochelle Roces
II BSBA C

Call unto me, and I will answer thee. ~ Jeremiah 33:3
Prayer. It is my way of knocking, asking, talking, chatting, seeking and communicating with God. That prayer has a lot to do with me, with my life. Praying is necessary, even we are not in trouble, we all still have to pray for thanking the Lord Jesus Christ, to ask for His guidance and to knock for His forgiveness.
I pray because I do love Jesus so much. I’m praying because I am so blessed. I have been praying because I am committing sins and I have to say sorry then ask for His forgiveness. I’m praying not just one (1), two (2) or three (3) times a day; but I am praying all the time I have something to thank to or to seek for. Prayer and praying is a precise part of my entire life.
What’s with my prayer? Here it goes…. “Lord Jesus, thank you for this day. Thank you for showering me an overflowing blessing. Thank you for the unconditional love. Thank you for guiding me, my family, my loved ones, my friends and everyone for all these time. Thank you Lord for the unfailing love, for never giving up and for never failing me. Thank you for providing everything we need- physically, financially, emotionally, materially and spiritually. Thank you Lord Jesus for being my savior and my redeemer. Thank you for everything my Lord. Sorry po for all the bad things I’ve done, for the sins of others and for the pain all of us that we’ve caused you. Sorry Lord Jesus for I’m failing you, for doing such things that I don’t have to. I’m sorry for I am being so irresponsible, self-minded and for being a sinner. Sorry for we’ve let you suffer. I am asking for your forgiveness my Lord, touch my life, our lives to abide you in your righteous path. Lord Jesus Christ, I love you so much. I want to be with you. You are all I ever wanted, you are all ever needed, and you’re all I ever loved. Lord Jesus, I am entrusting You everything, my life, my family and everyone those around me. Please look after my loved ones, and everyone. You know what would happen to us, so I’m clinging it all to You Jesus. I trust You and I believe in You. Touch each and everyone’s life, those whose suffering, and those who have been making themselves as Your instrument. I am asking for Your wisdom to shower me. My Lord, I know that You already know what’s with my prayer, and I believe that in Your right time, you’ll provide it with more than what I am asking for. I love you so much Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for everything. Without You, I am absolutely nothing. I love you so much Lord Jesus, Amen.”

THE BIRTH OF CHRIST THE ROMAN CHURCH BELIEVES:

THE EVENT PROPHESIED:

A. Born of a virginIsaiah 7:14 - Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. - Matthew 1:22-23 - Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. - Luke 1:35 - And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

B. Descended from DavidIsaiah 11:1 - And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: - Luke 1:32 - He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

C. Born in BethlehemMicah 5:2 - But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me thatis to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have beenfrom of old, from everlasting. - Matthew 2:4-6 - And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

D. Birth was connected to slaughter of children:Jeremiah 31:15 - Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. - Matthew 2:16-18 - Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, In Ramah was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

E. Taken to Egypt and returnedHosea 11:1 - WhenIsrael was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. - Matthew 2:15 - And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypthave I called my son.

THE EVENT DETAILED:

A. THE WHOLE THING THEORY:
There are some that suggest God formed and placed the entire fetus within Mary’s body. This would be the first reference in Scripture to Surrogate motherhood. This view would see a complete fertilized egg being prepared in heaven and being placed within Mary for the growth and birth process. This allows nothing of Mary to be imparted to Jesus, except the physical food and water nourishment that is normal in the pregnancy process.

PROBLEMS WITH THE WHOLE THING THEORY:

1. This does not make Christ a descendant of David. He has no descendency. He is totally of God, and even if He were human in form there would be a lacking of the reality of the son of Mary.

2. This requires God to go back into the creation business to create this totally new man. Does this allow for the Lord being man as we? Does this allow for the Lord being our brother? Etc. I don’t think so.

3. This could just as well have been a total creation of Jesus as an adult and eliminated the growing and maturing years.

4. There is no indication that this is the case in the Word, on the contrary the Gospels seem quite specific that there was a union of the Holy Spirit and Mary in the process. What that union, or overshadowing was is a question that we will probably not explain, yet both parties seem to be a part of the God-man Jesus.

B. THE MIRACLE THEORY
I ran into a self styled theologian that explained it this way. Mary and a man had relations. He did not get into the details of the father which was a bit of a problem to me. A Savior born of a fornicator. Not to appropriate. At any rate, he suggested to that conception, God added or changed something to keep the sin nature from being passed on to Jesus.

PROBLEMS WITH THE MIRACLE THEORY:

1. So how does deity enter the picture? By ZAP or by osmosis?

2. So how do you answer the fornication question?

3. So why was Jesus special enough to die for our sins?

4. So, is that a proper sacrifice according to the Scriptures? NO.

C. THE PARTIAL THEORY:
This would be where most of Protestantism is, I think. Mary was an integrated part of the conception, supplying to the unique person of Christ His manhood, while the Lord supplied, or moved in such a way as to supply the divine part of this person Jesus. How did that happen? We will discuss the conception later.

Death Of Christ

God gave His son and He will also give us many other blessings. Romans 8:32 - He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? There are some fairly lengthy studies on the results of His death in the area of redemption, propitiation etc. to be found in Ryrie’s theology p 286-297 and in The Teachers manual for the Ten Steps series by Campus Crusade. Walvoord has a lengthy section on the death as well. PP. 153-190 Walvoord has a paragraph that I would like to share.

“In the study of Christ in His sufferings and death, one is in a holy of holies, a mercy seat sprinkled with blood, to which only the Spirit-taught mind has access. In His death Christ supremely revealed the holiness and righteousness of God as well as the love of God which prompted the sacrifice. In a similar way the infinite wisdom of god is revealed as no human mind would ever have devised such a way of salvation, and only an infinite God would be willing to sacrifice His Son.”

I would like to close with some devotional thoughts from Spurgeon. In commenting on Matthew 27:14 where it states, “He answered him to never a word.” he mentions: “He had never been slow of speech when He could bless the sons of men, but He would not say a single word for Himself. ‘Never man spake like this Man,’ and never man was silent like Him. Was this singular silence the index of His perfect self-sacrifice? Did it show that He would not utter a word to stay the slaughter of His sacred person, which He had dedicated as an offering for us? Had He so entirely surrendered Himself that He would not interfere in His own behalf, even in the minutest degree, but be bound and slain an un-struggling, uncomplaining victim? Was this silence a type of the defenselessness of sin? Nothing can be said in palliation [“to cover by excuse or apologies” Webster] or excuse of human guilt; and, therefore, He who bore its whole weight stood speechless before His judge.”

He goes on to say, “Evidently our Lord, by His silence, furnished a remarkable fulfillment of prophecy. A long defense of Himself would have been contrary to Isaiah’s prediction. ‘He is led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.’ By His quiet He conclusively proved Himself to be the true Lamb of God.”

PROPER NAMES

1. JesusThe term Jesus is found in the Gospels around six hundred times, while in the rest of the New Testament about seventy times. It might be an interesting side light to mention that outside the Gospels the name Jesus is normally, in fact usually linked to other names of the Lord, such as Christ and Lord.
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36
Cambron mentions of the name Jesus, “Jesus is the personal name of the Lord. It is His earthly name, the name under which He was born, lived, and died. It is the name of His humiliation, of suffering, of sorrow. It is the name of the One who humbled Himself. The name Jesus, at the time of our Lord, was not uncommon; there were many who were named Jesus. Jesus is the Greek form for the Hebrew word Joshua, and both mean “Jehovah our Saviour.” This name, Jesus, was the one which was nailed over Him on the cross.”
2. Christ: Is an official name which points to the fact that He was, and is, the anointed one of Israel. Indeed the name Christ means the anointed one. The main distinction in the names is that Jesus was used before the cross and Christ was used after.
3. Messiah: The Hebrew term for anointed one is Messiah. The Old Testament always looked forward to the anointed one and now the New Testament reflects back upon the anointed one that came and completed the work that His first appearing required, yet still looks forward to the second appearing which will tie all plans for mankind together.
4. Lord: This is the New Testament equivalent of the Hebrew term Adonai or master. This is the term for Christ’s Deity.
5. Jesus Christ: Cambron mentions that this combination of terms sets forth His humanity but that He now is exulted, while the combination “Christ Jesus” depicts His present position contrasted with the fact that He was once humiliated.
6. Christ Jesus: This arrangement of the terms should lead the believer to realize that He is now exulted and that He once was humiliated, but that He now is fully and eternally exulted to His rightful place in Heaven.
7. The Lord Jesus Christ - Ephesians 1:3
8. I Am Exodus - 3:13-14; John 18:4-5
9. The Son Of God - Luke 1:35
10. The Son Of Man - Luke 9:58
11. Son Of Abraham - Matthew 1:1
12. Son Of David - Mark 10:47
13. Son Of The Highest - Luke 1:32
14. Second Man - 1 Corinthians 15:47
15. Last Adam - 1 Corinthians 15:45
16. The Word - John 1:1
17. Emmanuel - Matthew 1:23
18. Savior - Luke 2:11
19. Rabbi - John 1:38
20. Master - Matthew 9:11
